Choosing a private label lubricant manufacturer is a long-term decision. Your customers will blame your brand, not the plant, if the oil disappoints. These questions help you compare manufacturers on things that matter, and they work whether you are launching your first brand or switching supplier.
About the products
1. Can I choose from your existing range, or only a custom blend?
Starting from an existing, proven range is usually faster and cheaper than a new formulation. Ask which products are available under private label, and whether a custom blend is possible if you need one. Lukeron lets you choose products from its range or ask for a custom blend.
2. Which grades and specifications do you cover?
Check that the grades you want to sell are covered, for example the viscosity grades and API categories for engine oil, or the NLGI grades for grease. Match the range to what your market actually buys.
3. Can I try samples before I order?
A manufacturer confident in its product will give you samples. Test them in the equipment your customers use. Lukeron provides free samples so you can check quality first.
About quality
4. How do you test each batch?
Ask what is tested and where. Lukeron tests every batch in its in-house quality lab for key parameters such as viscosity, flash point and pour point. Ask any manufacturer to explain its checks in plain terms.
5. What certifications does the company hold?
Ask for the certificates and check that they belong to the company you are dealing with. Lukeron Lubricants Private Limited is ISO 9001:2015 certified, holds an Import Export Code (IEC), is a recognised startup and is registered under MSME (Udyam).
About packing and branding
6. What packs can you fill, and what do you need from me?
Ask which bottle, pail and drum sizes are available, and what you must supply: your brand name, label artwork, and any registrations your market requires. Agree who is responsible for the label text before printing.
7. What is the minimum order?
Minimums depend on the product, the pack and the branding. For engine oils and greases the usual minimum starts from 50 to 100 litres or one pallet. Ask for the minimum for your exact products, and whether it changes when you add your own packaging.
About the relationship
8. Who else do you make for?
A manufacturer with several private label customers has practice at running the process. More than 10 brands already sell lubricants made by Lukeron. Ask any manufacturer how it keeps customers' formulations and brands confidential.
9. How fast do you reply and deliver?
Response time tells you a lot. Lukeron replies to enquiries within 1 to 2 business days. Ask about typical production and delivery timelines for your order, and get them in the quotation.
10. Can you also help me export or supply in bulk?
If you plan to sell in more than one market, a partner that supplies in drums, barrels and tankers, and exports to Asia, Africa and the Middle East, can grow with you.
